Proses pembentukan melanin pada janin tidak dipengaruhi oleh asupan air kelapa selama masa kehamilan. Selain itu, minum air kelapa saat hamil juga bukan penentu bayi akan lahir bersih atau tidak. Saat lahir, umumnya bayi akan dipenuhi dengan lapisan tebal berwarna putih selayaknya keju atau lilin yang disebut vernix caseosa.
Lapisan inilah yang biasanya dianggap sebagai “kotoran” oleh sebagian orang. Padahal, lapisan ini adalah pelindung kulit bayi selama dia berada di dalam kandungan.
